Why we publish a range, not just an average
Two similar homes on the same street can land hundreds of dollars apart. Roof age, claims history, the dwelling limit, the deductible, and which carrier wants the risk that quarter all move the number. In our own book, a quarter of Illinois homeowners pay less than $1,670 a year and a quarter pay more than $2,810.
A single statewide average hides that spread. The range tells you whether your renewal is normal for your area or worth a second look.
McHenry and Kane County homeowners
McHenry County homes in our book run about $250 a year more at the median than Kane County homes. The two counties overlap heavily, and a quarter of our McHenry homeowners pay less than $1,770, well under the Kane median. If your premium sits above the top of the range for your county, it is worth having the policy re-shopped.
Paying more than $2,800 a year? That puts you in the top quarter of our Illinois book. We will compare your current policy across our carriers at no cost.
