| Pet | Typical Monthly Range | What Moves The Price |
|---|---|---|
| Dog | $25 to $60 / month | Breed, age, accident-only vs. full illness coverage |

Pet Insurance FAQs
Are pre-existing conditions covered?
Most pet insurance plans do not cover pre-existing conditions, meaning ones your pet had before the policy start date. However, some curable conditions may become eligible after a symptom-free waiting period. We will walk through your pet's history to find the best available fit.
Is there a waiting period before coverage begins?
Most plans have a short waiting period, typically around 14 days for illnesses and 2 to 3 days for accidents. Some carriers have longer waiting periods for orthopedic conditions. We will make sure you understand exactly when coverage kicks in before you enroll.
Can I use any veterinarian?
Yes. Most carriers we work with let you visit any licensed veterinarian in the U.S., including specialists and emergency clinics, with no network restrictions. You pay the vet, submit the claim, and get reimbursed directly to your bank account.
How does reimbursement work?
You pay your vet at the time of service, then submit a claim online or through the carrier's app. Most claims are processed within a couple of days, and reimbursement is deposited directly to your bank account based on your plan's coverage percentage, typically 80 to 90% after your deductible.
Can I bundle pet insurance with my home or auto policy?
Often yes, and we would recommend it. Adding pet insurance alongside an existing home or auto policy can save up to 15% across your entire bundle. It is one of the most overlooked ways to reduce your total insurance costs.
What dog and cat breeds are eligible?
All breeds are eligible, including French Bulldogs, Pugs, Maine Coons, and others some carriers exclude. Certain breeds may be priced differently based on health predispositions, but no breed is turned away outright. We will find you the best rate regardless of breed.
